Bishop Patrick James Byrne: Memorial of the 74 Anniversary of his Martyrdom, November 25, 2024
Recognition Prayer Service of the 75th anniversary of Bishop Byrne's Martyrdom
Bishop Byrne's relatives considered Auburn to always be their home. His parents, brother Ernest (to whom he was very close), and his Aunt and Uncle Eliza and Henry O'Neill are among his relatives buried at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Fleming.
Our prayer service included readings from Bishop Byrne's life and ministry, prayer, bagpipe music in honor of his Irish heritage, and readings in tribute to his loving family.
Thank you to the Maryknoll Society for donating the beautiful flags and plaque.
75th Annversary of Bishop Patrick James Byrne's Martyrdom
A cold November rain did not stop anyone from joining in prayer, marching on the sidewalk in reflection of the death march suffered by Bishop Byrne, and singing "Ave Maria" in front of Holy Family Church on November 25, 2025.
We remain forever grateful for Bishop Byrne's ministry and martyrdom.
